Cyprus Flag Enamel Pin
After Cyprus gained independence from British occupation in 1960, a new flag was adopted. The flag was to have a 'neutral design and color scheme' and therefore does not contain either the red or blue colors known from the Greek and Turkish flags, respectively. The Turkish Cypriot art teacher, [İsmet Güney](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/%C4%B0smet_G%C3%BCney), designed the flag.
