The Tibetan national flag, also known as the “Snow Lion Flag” or the “Free Tibet Flag,” has been the subject of much conflict over the years. Today, the flag is illegal in Tibet and China, but since 1960, it has been a symbol of the Tibetan independence movement advocating for the separation, freedom, and independence of Tibet from the People's Republic of China.
Like the Uyghur flag, it is banned in China and at times also in the streets of Copenhagen.
Measures 14x18mm.

At the center of the flag, a majestic snow-covered mountain represents Tibet. On the mountain stand two proud snow lions, symbolizing the nation's unity of spiritual and secular life.
Above the mountain is a sun whose radiant beams symbolize equal parts of freedom, spiritual and material happiness for all in Tibet. In the sky, six red stripes appear, representing the original ancestors of the Tibetan people: the six tribes known as Se, Mu, Dong, Tong, Dru, and Ra.
The beautiful jewel held aloft represents the reverence the Tibetan people have for the Buddha, Dharma, and Sangha. Between the two lions, another jewel appears, symbolizing self-discipline and proper ethical conduct.
