Rubber Mallet for Badge Machine - Fixes Jammed Dies

Product number: 110210

With a rubber mallet and a chisel, it's easy to remove jammed parts from your badge machine.

If by mistake two metal fronts have been inserted into your badge machine, it can 'lock up' and become difficult to open again.

This rubber mallet is just right for the job, as it has the perfect hardness to loosen the dies without damaging the badge machine in the same way a regular hammer would.

Rubber Mallet for Badge Machine - Fixes Jammed Dies

With this rubber mallet and a chisel, you can easily remove jammed parts from your badge machine on your own. Most issues that arise with your badge machine are due to accidentally inserting more than one badge front into the machine.

How do I know if an extra front has gotten stuck?

When you try to press your badge together with the handle, you will notice significantly more resistance than usual. Stop immediately! - This is a sign that too many parts have been placed in the machine! If the badge machine has already 'jammed' and an extra badge part is stuck, this rubber mallet and a chisel can be used to open the machine again and remove the jammed parts.

How to separate the dies and remove jammed parts from your badge machine

Follow the guide for your type of badge machine below:

MULTI badge machine

If the top and bottom dies have become stuck together, they can be separated by inserting a chisel at the joint where the top and bottom dies meet, and gently tapping down with the rubber mallet. It's important not to scratch the inside of the dies, as this could damage them! The dies will separate as soon as they are a few millimeters apart. There may still be parts stuck in the top die that need to be removed. Remove the top die from the MULTI badge machine by gripping it firmly and pulling straight down (it is held in place with magnets). You can use one finger on each side to push the die away from the badge machine body. Important: The top die must not be rotated/twisted, as this could loosen the parts inside the top die. Use a screw, pliers, and hammer. You need to hammer the screw precisely in the center of the top die, where there is a hole about 10mm (hidden under the badge parts). You should hammer the screw in no more than 10mm. If you hit this spot, you won't damage the machine. Hammer the screw in, and use the pliers to pull the screw and parts out of the top die. Do not hammer deeply! If you don't hit precisely in this hole, you could risk damaging the die. jammed parts in top die

PRO badge machine

If the top and bottom dies are stuck together, the bottom die will be raised about 5-10mm from the swing plate (see picture). distance between the dies
Separate them by hitting moderately hard with the rubber mallet on the black swing plate. The parts are more stuck on one side, so change the spot where you hit. If a lot of force has been used to compress the parts together, it may be necessary to send the machine to Badgeland to separate the top and bottom dies without damaging the machine.
There may still be parts stuck in the top die. Rotate the top die so the small black, vertical metal pin fits into the hole in the black metal plate above the top die as shown in the picture below. badge machine picture Push/pull the outer metal ring in the top die upwards, so the small, black metal pin hits the hole as shown in the picture below.  top die ring This empties the top die of jammed fronts. Place the chisel across the entire bottom die and push upwards. Change where you press upwards to reach all around the top die since the parts are more stuck on one side than the other.
Important: The tool must not scratch the inside of the dies, as they could be damaged.
