I Have Tourette's Syndrome
Tourette's Syndrome is caused by a congenital hereditary disorder in the brain's neurotransmitters. The exact cause of Tourette's Syndrome is unknown, but it has been linked to disturbances in the signaling of the gray matter in the frontal lobe, the area of the brain just above the eye sockets, and in some deep brain nuclei.
Children with mild Tourette's symptoms often face teasing, leading to a decreased quality of life. They may frequently be asked to stop their "bad habit" – but they simply cannot.
